We are pleased to announce that GEM (Gaming & Entertainment Management – Illinois LLC) has joined our family of companies at Delaware North, a global leader in hospitality and food service and one of the most innovative gaming operators in the United States. Working closely with GEM President Bill Nader, as well as with CFO Dave Sloan and COO Scot Ferguson, we were able to complete the acquisition of GEM on May 2, 2016.
Bill and I and our teams have been in discussions and conducting due diligence for several months to ensure GEM and Delaware North are a great fit for each other. We now know they are, and that each of us will grow to be stronger as a result. We greatly admire what GEM has accomplished in a short time to become the third largest – and I would argue the best – video gaming terminal (VGT) operator in Illinois.
Through Delaware North, GEM will have additional resources and expertise to promote the VGTs at your location. Delaware North is uniquely positioned to accommodate and promote offerings in connection with regional entertainment entities such as the Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and our Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in Rock Island, IL., as well as attractions across the country that include other casinos and sports venues, destination resorts and national parks.
Over time there will be small changes behind the scenes to leverage Delaware North’s significant connections in the gaming industry and economies of scale with vendors. GEM will continue to operate the business from its main offices in Naperville and satellite offices.
Bill, David, and Scott will continue to be there with their team to support your VGT operations. Delaware North welcomes you as a client and looks forward to working with GEM toward our mutual success.
